Permanent Hair Removal Cost
When it comes to hair removal treatments, every person with unwanted hair understands the need for a solution that is effective, permanent, painless, and affordable.
What options are there for removing hair?
Conventional hair removal methods available are shaving, plucking, threading, waxing, and depilatory creams. These methods are often messy, tedious and downright ineffective. Modern technology made way to electrolysis and light-based methods, such as laser and IPL.
Electrolysis is effective, but it is a very painful procedure. It involves the insertion of needle-like probes into individual follicles. Electric current is then applied to cause enough damage to hair follicles and inhibit hair growth. Since treatment is done hair follicle by hair follicle, electrolysis is very time consuming and eventually becomes very expensive.
Laser and IPL, on the other hand, are effective, safe and virtually painless treatments. These treatments are available at our centre, and we would like to emphasize the following points:
- We use only high-quality and advanced laser and IPL equipment;
- The procedures are fast and the results are permanent;
- Our prices are competitive – maintaining affordability without lowering our standards;
- The accumulated cost from temporary methods will eventually turn out to be more expensive than our treatment methods with permanent results.
How do these permanent light-based treatments work?
Melanin is contained both in the skin and in hair follicles, but more so in the hair follicles. Through selective photothermolysis, the hairs’ abundant pigment absorbs more light from IPL or laser beam than does the skin. This is how the skin is spared from thermal damage.
Light is absorbed through the hair shaft. As it penetrates the root, it converts to heat energy and destroys the ability of the hair follicles to grow hairs again.
IPL uses broad-spectrum or diffused light waves to treat the area. Laser, on the other hand, uses single-wavelength or focused light that targets melanin.
In both thermal methods, a cooling gel is first applied on the area to be treated. This cools and protects the outer skin from the pulses of light and heat.
Will there be multiple treatments?
Yes, multiple treatments are necessary to effectively remove hairs permanently.
Hairs grow in cycles. On a particular session, only actively-growing hairs (anagen phase) at that time are affected by the IPL or laser treatment. The treatment will have no impact on those hairs in resting or regression phases. The next treatment session will target hairs that have entered the anagen phase.
With each treatment, clients will observe fewer hairs; regrowing hairs will be finer and fairer; the growth rate will be slower. Maintenance treatments may also be required for more serious hair problems.
What is the usual cost of IPL hair removal treatment?
The price for IPL hair removal treatment will be based on how long it takes to cover the area to be treated and the number of treatments required. These are dependent on the size of the area, the thickness of the hair, skin color, and hair density.
Generally, clients with dark to black hair and fair skin get optimal results in fewer treatments.
Based on assessment, we will recommend the best treatment program for the client.
What is the usual cost of laser hair removal treatment?
The price for a complete course of laser treatment varies among clients depending on several factors such as, the size and location of the area to be treated, hair type and skin color, hair density, laser type, and the number of treatment sessions required.
Clients with dark hair and light skin normally find visible results in lesser number of treatments. Conversely, people with lighter hair and darker skin may require more treatments to get the desired results.
We have made our products and services affordable to our clients. We encourage them to book an appointment for a consultation with us. A thorough evaluation of their health condition, age, and skin and hair characteristics will be performed and shall be the basis for their treatment program.
What areas of the body are often requested by men and women?
Most female clients request treatment on the upper lip, chin, cheeks, back of their hands, arms, under arms, legs, tummy, bikini line, thighs and buttocks. Brazilian style hair removal treatment is frequently requested, too.
Male clients usually request treatment of hairs on their back, arms, forearms, shoulders, chest, abs, and other body areas where they have a problem with excessive hair or sweating. Male clients also do away with the time-consuming daily shaving of facial hairs, such as beards and sideburns, by having these areas treated.
The pre- and post-treatment care, side effects and recovery period
What pre- and post-treatment care must be observed?
- Avoid sun exposure. If outdoor activity is inevitable, apply sunscreen of at least 30 SPF as skin protection.
- Hair regrowth can be shaved or trimmed, but avoid waxing or plucking. However, allow hair to grow unshaven at least 3 days before your next treatment session.
- Avoid scrubbing, tanning, depilatory creams, or chemical peels 7 days before a treatment.
Are there complications or side effects?
There are practically no side effects. Slight redness or red spots might be observed after a treatment session, but these are temporary in nature and usually subside in a few hours.
Is recovery time necessary?
Recovery time is not necessary. Clients spend a few minutes for the treatment then return to their normal routine afterwards. We make it as convenient to our clients as possible that they need not take a leave from work or their usual activities.
